The Founder and Head Coach

My name is Julio Gutierrez. 

When a coach or physical trainer talks about his or her background, most of the time there’s a history full of early athletic achievements, love of sports, trophies, medals, etc. My own story, well… is not one of those.  

See, that’s the thing. A few years ago, I was living a not so healthy life. Sitting on a desk all day as an IT professional, on a couch after hours, not minding what I was eating at all… You could say I wasn’t exactly an example of fitness. This took a toll on me, to the point of almost getting heart disease and diabetes, not to mention having a hard time both moving myself around and enjoying life itself. Too heavy and breathless at all times! 

Then I decided it was time to change things. I began to train by myself, with almost no success at all. I discovered it’s very hard to get fit without a consistent program. And that was what I found later in a program very similar to the one we write at Hurricane Fitness. After a few months on it, both my health and fitness improved at a pace I didn’t think it was possible. After weighting 132 Kg, I was able to lose 46 Kg in a record time! The results inspired me to make a big career change, one where I would be able to help others to become better versions of themselves, regain control of their own bodies, and live a healthier lifestyle.

I’ve walked the path. I know how hard it can be, and I’m here to tell you: It’s possible, achievable, and you can do it too.

The Studio

In our garage gym, there are no machines. WE are the machines!

Our space is fully fitted to provide our athletes with what they require to complete their workouts. No matter if the session involves weightlifting, gymnastics or cardio endurance, everything is here to make your experience a challenging and rewarding one. Classes are limited to 12 athletes per session to ensure maximum focus and freedom of space.

The Community

Join a group of supportive and friendly people! Our members will welcome you into our ranks with open arms, and will support you during every step of your fitness journey. Few experiences are as rewarding as completing a Workout of the Day (WOD) with such a cool bunch of comrades!
